Summa Summa Summa-time

The first day of summer was on Friday.

I have always loved the first day of summer, whether it be summer vacation when you are in school..or the actual first day, the longest day of the year (well most daylight anyway).

The longest day here is about 2 hours shorter than the longest day in South Dakota. Even so, I love everything about summer. 100+ degree weather, the beach, baseball games, you name it, I love it.

I spent the first day of summer at the Dodger game. I love going to Dodger stadium. I can't pick a favorite baseball team because I like so many of them but I can honestly say that Dodger stadium has the best atmosphere of any baseball stadium ever.

What I don't understand is why people come to baseball games and then leave in the 7th inning. The one exception I can give is for people with kids because sometimes you just need to take them home. But for everyone else, really? I have the shortest attention span on the planet but I can still make it through 9 innings (and then some). I guess, to each his own.

Which leads me to one of my goals in life. I would like to watch a baseball game in each major league stadium in the country.

So far:
  • Minnesota Twins (numerous times)
  • Seattle Mariners
  • Colorado Rockies
  • Chicago Cubs
  • Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Anaheim Angels
  • San Diego Padres

I have also been to San Fransisco Giants stadium but have not watched them play, and watched Cubs/Angels Spring Training in Arizona, but I don't think that counts.

So, 7 down, 23 to go.

Wish me luck.

Anything else?

Today:
  • I got tickets to Jack Johnson!!!!
  • My boss told me she is resigning.
  • I managed 70 high schoolers who did a bunch of different projects at the Mission.
  • I ordered a pair of AE shorts and found a discount that covered shipping so I do not have to drive to the Block just for one pair of shorts.
  • I effectively booked a tour/meeting/project for every day this week, therefore ensuring I will get very little done for the remainder of the week.
  • I watched one of the kids I teach do a round off back tuck AND a flyaway with no spot!
  • I have a mom at the gym who is very excited I am teaching her child..and told me she likes me and our techniques better than Giants AND Wildfire. Talk about a self-esteem boost.

I am exhausted. It is only Tuesday.

By the way, job well done Lakers. Really?

The Happening...

So I keep seeing previews for The Happening. I am FOR SURE not a fan of scary movies and I keep seeing previews of them when I am home alone. Granted, if someone or something came into my house and tried to kill me/possess me, there is really nothing my roommate could/would do. But still..

There is one scary movie I will give props to. The Shining was probably one of the creepiest movies of all time, but I still watch it every time it comes on TV. Possibly because it is not the goriest movie, or maybe because Jack is bomb in this movie but this is the one scary movie that I can put on my favorite movies list. And that is saying a lot.

F-R-E-E, that spells free

I am intrigued by commercial jingles.

Currently, the freecreditreport.com and Baskin Robbins are the two that stick in my head. Honestly, I will probably never go to freecreditreport.com and I would rather eat Yogurtland than Baskin Robbins any day but I still can name the product and sing the jingle so the campaigns are working.

By the way, this is my first post here. (Thank you Captain Obvious.) Let's see how long I keep this one up.
